Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, one of the most beautiful villages of France, is situated in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of the Verdon. Come and discover it.
La Cadeno is a leisure base located on one of the most beautiful sites of the Sainte-Croix Lake. On one of the biggest lake of France, hidden from the Galetas Bridge and the entrance of the Verdon Gorges, it is a little paradise. In a family and friendly atmosphere, La Cadeno will know how to transport you by the activities it offers or just relax in the sun, thanks to the rental of deckchairs.
When we arrive in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, we can only be overwhelmed by its chapel, visible between the two cliffs, dominating the village. Built between the XIIth and the XVIth century, it is classified as a historical monument in 1921. It is partly Romanesque and partly Gothic. The chapel is well known for its "suscitations". In the 17th century, stillborn babies were brought back to life during their baptism, thus gaining heaven.
Since the end of September 2018, it is possible to make the tour of the Lake of Sainte-Croix in a pedestrian itinerary, between 5 and 6 days for a distance of 74 kilometers. The various villages around the lake of Sainte-Croix act as " stopover villages ". A real journey along the water and time to meet the villages that have seen their histories turned upside down during the creation of the dam (and therefore the lake of Sainte-Croix) in the 70s.
The Verdon Gorges extend from Castellane to the Galetas bridge, where the river joins the Sainte-Croix Lake. On the third largest lake in France, many nautical activities are offered such as the rental of pedal boats, paddles, canoes / kayaks or electric boats. On the commune of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, two nautical bases are open to explore a part of the Verdon Gorges.
