On Saturday, 21 February 2026, Le Mouton Noir welcomes ‘Nesles’ for an intimate concert!
Nesles is a French singer-songwriter.
He released ‘Permafrost’ in 2017. This second album opened the door to national media coverage (notably FIP radio, which added several tracks to its playlist), placing him in the footsteps of Bashung and Murat.
In May 2025, he released a new album, ‘Barocco’, which was a favourite of the Académie Charles Cros.
‘A dreamlike, decadent world. A true marvel of poetry’ 20 Minutes.
The EP ‘Nu’, released in 2014 and produced by Alain Cluzeau (producer for Bertrand Belin, Bénabar, Olivia Ruiz, Thiéfaine, Paris Combo, etc.), steered Nesles' music towards more acoustic sounds and a more sober tone, foreshadowing those of ‘Permafrost’ three years later, considered by the press to be a major album. The album earned Nesles real media recognition and rave reviews from numerous national media outlets (RFI, FIP, Francofans, Magic Rom, L'Obs, Hexagone, etc.).
‘Nesles is a treasure in the French music scene’ Les Inrocks
Nesles set up his own label, Walden Musique, and released ‘Barocco’ in 2025, featuring a highly acclaimed collaboration with Dominique A.
‘Nesles's sombre sobriety. Mysterious lyrics, American guitars: following in the footsteps of Manset, Bashung and Murat, the author continues to forge his own path.’ Télérama
‘An explosive and phantasmagorical style of writing, an astonishing bestiary.’ France Inter
"What a marvel this new album by Nesles is, like a jewel shining in the night. Its deep warmth infuses each track with astonishing inventiveness. A great record." Persona
‘Barocco’, his new album released in 2025, balances between electro, as on the excellent ‘Beckett Initial’, French songs and folk (the magnificent ‘Quelque chose qui brille’!), Nesles takes us on a journey, beyond Beckett, we also encounter Sarah Bernhardt, on an intense and profound Panamerican.
Poetic, superbly written and produced, ‘Barocco’ has the grace of an animal (Antilopes), an intimate and mysterious album (Canon-Fleur, Blanche), confirming the unique talent of Nesles, whose warm and melancholic voice comes into its own on these 10 beautiful songs!
