Wednesday, 12 August 2026 at 9 p.m., it's ‘Place à la Musique’ with LICKS & BRAINS, the jazz soul groove band straight from the Netherlands! Made up of around 20 musicians, it will be led by Rolf Delfos, one of the most prestigious saxophonists in the Netherlands!

Singer Simone Roerade (“Miss Hips”, singing teacher at the Rotterdam Conservatory) will be joining us!
Ben van den Dungen, perhaps the best tenor saxophonist in the Netherlands, will accompany us this time as a guest soloist for several concerts.
Especially for the French audience, our conductor has arranged well-known French songs, including La Vie en Rose (Edith Piaf), Black Trombone (Serge Gainsbourg) and La Montagne (Jean Ferret).
LICKS & BRAINS is an 18-piece soul groove jazz band led by Rolf Delfos, one of the most prestigious saxophonists in the Netherlands, with over 100 albums to his credit.
LICKS & BRAINS regularly performs with well-known Dutch artists from the world of jazz.
The orchestra recently completed a tour of 22 concerts in top-class venues with the great Eric Vloeimans (trumpeter). The group has just released a new album with him, ELECTRIC MINDS.
Four years ago, the group released the album NEXT! with Joseph Bowie (USA), singer and trombonist with Defunkt.
LICKS & BRAINS has played with top artists such as Ilja Reijngoud (trombonist, winner of the Thelonious Monk BMI Jazz Composition Award) and Houston Person (USA, saxophonist).
Another series of top-class concerts took place in March 2024 with legendary guitarist Robben Ford (USA).
