On Friday, 16 October 2026, Le Mouton Noir welcomes Samuel Covel for an intimate concert!
What the press says:
A poetic and dreamy guitarist, Hérault-based singer-songwriter Samuel Covel embraces his era with gusto, drawing inspiration from Baudelaire, Ferré, Thiéfaine, Beaucarne and the rock energy of the 1970s (King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Richie Havens, Tom Waits, etc.).
On scorched earth where the sounds of a raw guitar mingle with powerful, impressionistic poetry, the cicadas emerge from the ground for one last moult: an imaginal moult.
A universe of poetry and rock and folk songs with atmospheres that are sometimes on edge, sometimes explosive, performed as the opening act for Jeanne Cherhal, Alain Chamfort, Tom Poisson, Frédéric Bobin, and in venues and festivals such as Les P'tits Bouchons, Les Nuits du Chat, Le Forum Léo Ferré and La Bellevilloise in Paris, a tour in Quebec…
A favourite of the Auditions Osons du Bijou, and now supported by the departmental contemporary music initiative 34 Tours, his first album was released in spring 2018.
A free poet, opponent of empty words and instinctive guitarist, he creates songs that combine unusual sounds with lyrics crafted like pieces of jewellery.
A world of raw images, a knotty and atmospheric sound where the clamour rises, making bones, flesh and words beat, and the surf of a guitar at the heart of the storm.
Doors open: 7pm
Concert starts: 8.30pm
Free entry, more complicated way out: hats off!
