Film presentation: The Raising of the Moustiers Star – 1995 and 1957!

An archive film directed by Bernad Chouial, featuring archive footage from the Aman, Roussel and Moreau families.

A landmark event brought an entire village together around a powerful symbol: the hoisting of the Moustiers-Sainte-Marie star, suspended between two cliffs above the famous chapel. This feat, as technical as it is symbolic, still resonates today as a moment of unity, tradition and local pride.

Through rare and precious archive footage, this documentary takes a behind-the-scenes look at this spectacular operation. Filmed in close collaboration with local residents, craftspeople and volunteers, this film immerses the viewer in the intimate world of ancestral craftsmanship and collective commitment.

Bernad Chouial will be present at this screening to provide commentary on the film, enriching the images with his memories, anecdotes and the context of this human adventure.

There will be a discussion session after the screening, during which everyone will have the opportunity to share their memories with the audience.
