Guided tour of the old town
Guided tours of Moustiers take you on a narrated journey through the historic heart of the village. Admire the ancient fountains, vaulted passageways, ramparts, old workshops and stone buildings bathed in Provençal light. Learn more about the medieval origins of Moustiers, the monastic influence, local legends and, of course, the famous star suspended between two cliffs, the village’s iconic mystery. Each stage of the tour is punctuated with fascinating anecdotes, offering a new perspective on the history, traditions and daily life of the inhabitants of yesterday and today. It is also an opportunity to understand the importance of earthenware in the economic and artistic development of the village.

Guided tour of the old town center and the Chapelle Notre-Dame de Beauvoir
During this tour, we’ll discover Moustiers-Sainte-Marie’s 2 main buildings. We’ll start with the Romanesque parish church, then climb up to the Notre-Dame de Beauvoir chapel via the Way of the Cross. The visit is rounded off with a quick tour of the village’s pedestrian streets.
Please note: access to the chapel via the Way of the Cross is slippery and requires good footwear.
Level: recommended for ages 13 and over (disabled visitors please).

In the year 1442, the good King René, Count of Provence, called upon the inhabitants of Moustiers to raise a large sum of money to support a major war effort. Thanks to an unprecedented show of solidarity, the town council managed to raise the requested amount… But on the eve of the treasure’s departure, a theft was committed!
Join the council of Moustiers, explore the village’s narrow streets and question suspects to discover who betrayed everyone’s trust. A thrilling adventure for the whole family, combining mystery, heritage and medieval immersion.
Immerse yourself in history, save the village’s honour… and become the hero of Moustiers!
