Water sports centres in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie

Moustiers-Sainte-Marie has two water sports centres. The Base Nautique de l’Étoile, located by the Galetas bridge at the entrance to the Gorges du Verdon, and the Base Nautique de La Cadeno, located on one of the most beautiful beaches on Lake Sainte-Croix, a haven of peace in the heart of nature.

Regulations to be complied with

Whether you fish occasionally or on a regular basis, Lac de Sainte-Croix offers an exceptional setting in which to indulge your passion. This activity is subject to strict regulations to protect the aquatic fauna and preserve the natural balance of the site. Pike, perch, pike-perch and trout inhabit the waters, making the lake a highly sought-after fishing spot. Each species has its own clearly defined opening period, which must be respected if you want to fish legally and in an environmentally-friendly way.

• Fishing licence required: a fishing licence is required to fish in the Verdon and its lakes. You can buy one from the Tourist Office at
  Moustiers.
• Catch size and quotas: certain species must be released if they do not reach the legal size.
• Prohibited techniques: the use of livebait and multiple hooks is regulated in certain areas.
• For an environmentally-friendly experience, adopt the principles of ‘no-kill’ and get information from your local fishing federations.
