Hérisson MC was formed in Montpellier in 2020 by trombonist Julien Vezilier and trumpeter Samuel Vène.
After ten years of working together in the brass sections of funk bands and on the benches of the Montpellier Jazz Conservatoire, they decided to put the skills they had acquired over the years to good use in the music they had grown up with: the hip hop of the 90s.
With a taste for writing, they set their lyrics to harmonies drawn from their jazz influences. To this they add hip hop rhythms, funk-influenced bass lines and, of course, the brass riffs and themes that are their DNA.
In this bubbling bath of groove and hip hop, the Hérisson MCs switch from rap to brass, delivering explosive material that's not short of spice!
In 2024, they released their 1st EP, ‘La politesse des rois’, and hit the road to spread the word!
